2023 EVENT – MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR MAY 23 – 28, 2023 TO JOIN THE CELEBRATION!

Canadian RVing and Camping Week is designed to encourage Canadians and international visitors to get outside to enjoy a fun, safe and secure camping experience with family and friends.

The week is organized and sponsored by the Canadian Camping and RV Council and supported by the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association to:

  • Promote the lifestyle associated with camping and RVing.
  • Promote good behaviour and respect via the Camper’s Code
  • Raise funds for Care Camps to send children with cancer to camp.

The celebration marks the official kickoff of Canada’s summer camping season. Canadian park owners will put their twist in celebrating the return of their campers during the week, it may be through events, discounted overnight fees, or fun activities.

Each year, the RVing and camping week supports a good cause. The proceeds gathered from this year’s celebration will benefit Care Camps, a charity that helps children with cancer enjoy camping and spending time in nature.

INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS

The Canadian RV and camping industry contribute over CA$6.2 billion to the economy, employs 67,000 individuals, and generates over $3.4 Billion to Canadian tourism.

Camping is an opportunity for families to spend time together, to create lifelong memories, and to discover Canada’s natural landscape and they have never been as important to the well-being of Canadian families as they are today.

Together in 2022, British Columbia supporters raised over $8,000 for Care Camps of Canada, which allows children living with cancer to enjoy the joy, healing and freedom that comes from attending specialized oncology camps where they can just be themselves.  The camp experience equips them with the skills necessary to meet the challenges they will face while fighting their disease.
